5. Beloura - Pestana

Address: Quinta da Beloura, Rua Mato da Mina, nº19, 2710-692 Sintra, Portugal

A golf course designed by - you've guessed it - Rocky Roquemore, Beloura Sintra Pestana sports a great combination of modern design, diverse holes, and water hazards.

The entire golf resort is quite luxurious and is related to a few more golf courses in the area, such as Pestana Alto Golf, Pestana Silves Golf, and Pestana Vila Sol.

While there are 18 holes of play, the 7th and 17th are considered to be the most challenging and memorable ones, as they require precision and strategy to complete.

The location offers a driving range where you can practice your game, and you can even get golf lessons on the spot. At the same time, the restaurant can not only help you get some snacks but also provide a great spot where your family can wait until you complete your game.

In other words, this is a golf course in Lisbon that everyone can enjoy equally!

6. Aroeira Pines Classic

Address: Rua das Anémonas, Club House – Herdade da Aroeira, Portugal

Aroeira is one of the oldest golf courses, not just in Lisbon but also in this area of Portugal.

The original course, once known as Aroeira I, was designed in 1973 by Frank Pennink; the UK media quickly named the course the ‘Wentworth of Lisbon,’ and it's not challenging to see why.

Pine forests surround the course, and each hole requires precision and placement off the tee to ensure good scores or even completion of the course.

The Aroeira Pines Classic was the home for the Portuguese Open in 1996 and 1997, as well as the European Men’s Club Trophy in 2013. It also hosted a few Ladies’ European Tour events.

According to the now-discontinued Golf World magazine, Aroeira Pines Classic is considered among the 100 best golf courses in Europe.

As one of my favorite amenities, the location also has a pool, providing additional activities for both golfers and their families.

7. Troia Resort

Address: Complexo Turistica de Troia, Portugal

Located at the heart of the peninsula and designed by Sam Torrance, the Troia Golf was voted one of Continental Europe’s best 20 resorts by Golf World magazine in 2018.

The course not only has some of the most beautiful natural environments I have seen, but it's also one of the best courses for warm summers - all of this at reasonable green fee prices.

Troia Golf Course is a true test of golf skill due to its elevated greens and numerous hazards.

As the resort offers golfers views of extensive pine forests, Arrábida Mountain, and the ocean, it is a true haven for those who know what this amazing sport truly is - a blend of nature and some of the best design you can find.

Numerous prestigious championships, such as the Portuguese Open, were hosted at this location, further adding to its exclusivity and reputation.

Of course, the resort has a restaurant with a wide variety of dining options for players from all sides of the world.

8. Terras da Comporta - Dunas Golf Course

Address: Vanguard Properties, Edifício Fórum Tivoli, Av. da Liberdade 180 A/E 7º andar, 1250-146 Lisboa, Portugal

The Dunas Golf Course is one of the newest golf courses in Lisbon, but don't let this fool you.

Designed by David McLay Kidd, the course quickly got in the top 10 of the 100 best courses in Continental Europe - the best rating ever for a new course

It scored the same number of points as the courses ranked between 5th and 9th place, making it the first golf course in Portugal and the second in the Iberian Peninsula.

Located on sandy shores, the course was inspired by Scotland, David McLay Kidd's home country. It has all the best things Scotland might offer - but in some of the best conditions possible.

Next to its great golf course, Dunas also offers a Golf Academy where everyone can learn to play this amazing sport.

There is also a driving range, a pro shop with a wide variety of brands, as well as a Dunas Golf Course restaurant.
